Udo Spreitzenbarth gehört zu den angesagtesten People- und Kunst-Fotografen überhaupt. Vor seine Linse kommen internationale Stars aus der Showwelt. Doch er hat auch mal klein angefangen – in seiner Heimat im Enzkreis. Hier will er auch sein nächstes Großprojekt stattfinden lassen: „Spirits of Gold“ lautet der Arbeitstitel eines Kunstprojektes, die in einer internationalen Wanderausstellung und einem Kunstbuch gipfeln soll. Und: Drei Frauen aus der Region dürfen mit dabei sein. Ausgewählt wird in einem Casting der Töchter.

Asien und L.A. - einen stärkeren Kontrast kann es kulturell nicht geben. Hier der reine, pure Kommerz, dort fernöstliche Philosophie und Nachdenklichkeit. In L.A. – einer Stadt, in der die Oberfläche von zentraler Bedeutung ist, gibt es im Grunde keinen Platz für Gedanken. Auch in geografischer Hinsicht ist L.A. zerpflückt, zerrissen, eine Mischung aus gleißendem Glamour und erschreckender Provinzialität. Nur die Fassade hält diese Stadt zusammen, man fühlt sich seltsam verloren, heimatlos. Eben 8 SPIRITS :: LOST SOULS.

Wer kann ich sein im wir? Geschützt von der Uniform der Eitelkeit und doch verloren ohne eigenes Gesicht. Demut vor der Geborgenheit der Masse, die auffängt und trägt. Die zur Demütigung wird, wenn das Kind erwachsen wird und eine Stimme bekommt, die es ungewünscht erhebt.

Udo Spreitzenbarth fotografierte im November 2008 die aus New York stammende Schauspielerin und das Top Model Melissa Kurland auf Bretz Couture für seinen geplanten Bildband *BEHIND the CAT*. In diesem Shooting entstanden atemraubenden Fotoarbeiten, die als übergrosse Plakate den Bretz Messestand in Köln definierte. Die Bildsprache von Udo Spreitzenbarth raubt die Sinne, berührt das Innerste unserer Seele.

Udo Spreitzenbarth wird mit dieser Arbeit eine neue, einzigartige Vision von Liebe, Leidenschaft, Hass und der Wunsch nach Geborgenheit darstellen. Ende November 2009 wird Udo Spreitzenbarth´s neues internationales *Bretz Image* präsentiert.

NEW YORK 2011 :: Drei Rocklegenden und zwei Rocktalente treffen sich. Eine Band entsteht – an einem Ort, an dem der Schein in meisterhafter Form selbstzelebriert wird und das eigentliche Sein im Hintergrund verschwindet. Der *BIG APPLE* steht einzig in seiner Art für die Vergötterung seelenloser Werte – eine konsumierende Gesellschaft und die Gier nach immer mehr. Das soziales Miteinander sich an oberflächlichen Schönheitsidealen orientiert und deren symbolhaft für die amerikanische ‘supersize’ Gesellschaft stehen.

Asia and L.A. – there is no stronger cultural contrast. Pure commerce rules the one country, far-eastern philosophy and thoughtfulness rule the other. L.A. is a place with no space for reflection and thoughts but is focused on superficialness. Also from the geographical point L.A. is disrupted, characterized by a mixture of glittering glamour and terrifying provincialism. Only the facade keeps this city together, you feel lost, homeless. Who can I be in the collective society? Protected by the uniform of vanity but lost without own face. Humbling for the safety of the crowd, catching and carrying. Humbleness becoming humiliation when the child grows up and gets an own voice which is raised unwished.

For his planned photo book *BEHIND the cat* Udo Spreitzenbarth took photos of New York based model and actress Melissa Kurland on Bretz Couture in November 2008. The pictures created during this shoot were breathtaking photographic works, shown as oversized posters and defining the booth of the company Bretz at the international furniture expo in Cologne. Udo Spreitzenbarths’ picture language affects our feelings and touches our soul deeply.

With his work the photographer will allegorize a new and unique vision of love, passion, hate and our need for safety and warmth. From autumn 2009 on Udo Spreitzenbarth will create the new international *Bretz Image*.
